Job Summary
The I&C Planner is directly responsible for creating work orders from Maximo Service Requests; creating new standard job plans and revising existing standard job plans; building, maintaining, reviewing, and correcting the PM database; continually monitoring and correcting job estimates on repeatable jobs; closing schedules and review closed schedule comments to evaluate for any additional actions; build and modify bill of materials lists in the database; and generate reports as required. The Planner, plans all corrective, preventive, and condition based maintenance jobs for the plant using Maximo, and other databases along with appropriate technical and equipment information. The Planner visits the job-site to determine all resources needed to complete maintenance tasks in the safest, most efficient, and cost effective manner and prepares these items for execution of the work. The I&C planner will maintain station VFDs. , SCADA and PLC Systems, Wonderware, VTS, PLC: Allen Bradley and GE. The I&C planner should understand the design and application of plant electrical, instrumentation and controls with experience in the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of these items.
Job Description
This role will regularly evaluate the status of running equipment and communicate with various other departments regarding potential problem areas. The Planner generates the actions either by planning requests for repairs or by creating work orders as needs are identified. This will include regular communications with operations, scheduling, craft supervision, craft personnel and contracted resources.
Arrange, coordinate, provide direction, and directly supervise contracting work forces. The Planner will be accountable for controlling project assignments relative to work scope, safety, quality, production, and cost management. Arrange and track off-site equipment repairs. This position will be responsible for establishing and communicating scope of work, schedule, and cost on with work plans.
Insure planning package are complete including required permits, work instructions, materials and required notifications.
Perform post work package reviews to ensure that work instructions were completed.
Modify work instructions when required after performing post work reviews.
Maintain and update as required work package instruction
O&M equipment budgeting and budget oversight.
Capital budget development and project execution.
Other duties as assigned
Must be available to work extended hours and cover additional shifts related to the position, including during outages, emergent work, and on assigned special projects.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of fossil power plant experience with mechanical, electrical or instrumentation maintenance.
Understanding of industrial controls and instrumentation.
Understand operating procedures, safety procedures, auxiliary equipment, fuel handling equipment, fossil plant planning, LOTO procedures, Maximo.
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook a plus.
Demonstrated skills in collaboration for communication, troubleshooting, documentation and handoff to/from other peers.
I&C planner should understand the design and application of plant electrical, instrumentation and controls with experience in the maintenance and repair of these items.
