Overview
The Operating Room Manager oversees daily operations and quality performance for the Operating Room, Sterile Processing and Surgical Scheduling departments. Implements hospital strategic and operational plans at the unit level. Sets unit specific goals that support the mission of the hospital and that are in accordance with the division strategic plan. Coaches, counsels and disciplines employees. Develops, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities
Communication and Relationship Management
+ Communicate organizational mission, vision, values, and goals to team members and connect to the work being done by the team.
+ Establish and foster teamwork, cooperation, and collaborative relationships with a diverse workforce through an environment that promotes openness, trust, and a culture of safety.
+ Support Shared Governance at the unit and hospital level.
Human Resources Management
+ Recruits and selects new team members, ensures a positive onboarding experience.
+ Clearly communicate job expectations and appraise results annually.
+ Facilitate accomplishment of professional growth goals for team members.
+ Utilize Just Culture to coach, counsel, and discipline associates to ensure a safe, secure, and legal working environment.
Financial Management
+ Collaborates with stakeholders to develop annual operating and capital budgets, monitor budget performance throughout the year.
+ Manage productivity and FTE budgets to expectations to ensure financial sustainability of the organization.
+ Participate in system Value Analysis teams and effectively implement identified products.
Performance Improvement and Patient Experience
+ Set unit goals for Performance Improvement and Patient Experience that support organizational priorities.
+ Analyze quality, patient safety and patient experience data, recognize trends.
+ Develop, implement, and evaluate performance improvement plans as needed.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field with other degree in nursing.
+ Minimum two years perioperative experience.
+ Minimum one year leadership experience.
+ RN license in the state of Iowa or compact state
+ BLS
+ Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
