Job Title: Software Architect - onsite in Iowa
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Architect to design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient solutions utilizing Azure services, microservices, and modern web technologies. The role involves leading the design of complex solutions across hybrid cloud platforms and translating business processes into efficient IT solutions.
Responsibilities
+ Architect and design scalable solutions leveraging Azure services, microservices, and modern web technologies.
+ Lead the design of complex solutions involving APIs and large-scale data environments.
+ Translate business processes into scalable, secure, and reusable IT solutions.
+ Define and document solution architecture and maintain the architecture repository.
+ Align solutions with enterprise architecture standards and reference models.
+ Architect and deliver features for API Layer and Digital Portals using React and Node.js.
+ Ensure solutions are cloud-native, API-first, and optimized for performance and scalability.
+ Provide architectural guidance on microservices, event-driven architecture, and data pipelines.
+ Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Teams, and Agile Engineers to deliver high-value features.
+ Establish and lead a Community of Practice for architects and developers focused on Azure, APIs, and data.
+ Co-create architecture roadmaps aligned with business strategy.
+ Organize solution design activities and ensure stakeholder alignment.
+ Monitor implementation compliance with architectural standards.
+ Drive improvements in architecture practices and standards.
+ Serve as a thought leader in API and application architecture.
+ Coach and mentor developers and architects, promoting continuous learning and excellence.
+ Communicate effectively with senior management, translating technical concepts into business language.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience in enterprise software architecture and solution design.
+ 3+ years of experience in Azure cloud architecture, including hybrid environments.
+ Strong understanding of API-first design, microservices, event-driven architecture, and SOA.
+ Experience with Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Delta Lake, Synapse Analytics, and big data tools.
+ Proficiency in React, Node.js, Python, Scala, SQL, or other cloud-native development.
+ Skilled communicator with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
+ Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
+ Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ TOGAF® and ArchiMate® certifications.
+ Azure Solutions Architect certification (AZ-305 or equivalent).
+ Experience in financial services, especially commercial lending or leasing.
+ Familiarity with secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP), CI/CD, monitoring, and logging.
+ Background in software development and project management methodologies.
Work Environment
The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Scrum Teams, and Agile Engineers. The position involves leading a Community of Practice focused on Azure, APIs, and data. The work environment supports continuous learning and encourages innovation in architecture practices.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Johnston, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
15% bonus, 401k, health dental vision
