The Civil/Structural Engineer will collaborate with a team of engineers and technical staff to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in the design and structural analysis of steel structures and concrete foundations.

    + Prepare calculations, drawings, and reports under the guidance of senior engineers.

    + Collect, review, interpret, and integrate design requirements from customers, suppliers, and the parent company.

    + Prepare and review engineering technical requirements to support the overall project proposal and bid strategy.

    + Review customer specifications and prepare technical clarifications and deviations.

    + Prepare and review budgets, bids, technical requirements, and commercial requirements.

    + Plan and review deliverable schedules, including project documentation and equipment.

    + Work with suppliers to develop budgets and pricing estimates.

    + Ensure arrangement and foundation interface information meets requirements.

    + Interface with internal and external teams to ensure that design interface information for structural commodities is accurate and properly accounted for.

    + Establish corrective actions to reduce nonconformances and improve outcomes.

    + Carry out other responsibilities as assigned to meet evolving project and organizational needs.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering.

    + Familiarity with ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318.

    + Experience with structural analysis of steel structures and concrete foundations.

    + Generating structure reports.

    + Experience in Power, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Petrochemical industries.

    + Experience with Earthquake Engineering concepts and tools such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, and AutoCAD.

    + Travel requirement: 5%.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.

    + Familiarity with structural engineering software such as StruDl and STAAD.

    + Experience in civil engineering, structural steel, structural analysis, structural design, foundation, gas turbine, steam turbine, and power plant.

    The work takes place in a multi-disciplinary office that serves as the North American HQ for Plant Engineering, encompassing Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Controls, and project management disciplines.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Mary, FL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
