Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for validating program capabilities with Siemens PLCs and CNC motion control systems, commissioning new equipment, and programming/troubleshooting electrical issues. Active participation in safety sign-offs, verifying equipment capabilities, and coordinating with cross-functional engineering teams to conduct meetings with Tier I suppliers are also essential aspects of the job.
Responsibilities
+ Validate program capabilities using Siemens PLCs and CNC motion control systems.
+ Commission new equipment and ensure it is operational.
+ Program and troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.
+ Actively participate in safety sign-offs to ensure compliance.
+ Verify equipment capabilities and performance.
+ Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams for meetings with Tier I suppliers.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of Controls/Electrical Engineering experience.
+ Hands-on knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems.
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as electrical engineering.
+ Experience in the automotive industry or related fields like aluminum, metal cutting, or machine shops.
+ Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
+ Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 10+ years of controls experience preferred.
+ Extensive software programming experience, especially Siemens-based.
+ Knowledge of international electrical/safety standards such as UL, ISO, and IEC.
+ Familiarity with internal/external safety processes like risk assessments and coordinated safety.
+ Understanding of program delivery elements from the cost study phase to launch.
+ Extensive knowledge of PTME IT standard footprint applications such as FIS, QLSM, QWX, GPTS, QDAS, OBL, and PDS.
Work Environment
The position is Monday through Friday, 1st shift, with 10-15% occasional travel.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
