    Job Title: Site Supervisor** **Job Description

     

    This individual is responsible for overseeing the daily activities on site, serving as the direct supervisor for plumbers, fitters, welders, apprentices, and laborers. The role involves managing a crew of 10-15 people daily at job sites located throughout the DMV area. The current project involves a $9 million academic building at a college in Southern MD. The supervisor will coordinate and manage subcontractors working on the installation of ductwork, insulation, water treatment, automatic temperature controls, and air/water balancing. The role includes work on renovations, new builds, and build-outs, with 70% of the work being new builds. The installation of new plumbing and HVAC systems in commercial buildings and connecting to existing building piping are key tasks. The work is a mix of HVAC and plumbing, with a focus on plumbing work.

    Responsibilities

    + Oversee daily on-site activities and manage a crew of 10-15 people.

    + Coordinate and manage subcontractors for ductwork, insulation, water treatment, and HVAC systems.

    + Perform installations in renovations, new builds, and build-outs.

    + Install new plumbing and HVAC systems and connect to existing piping.

    + Handle piping for HVAC units purchased from vendors.

    + Perform underground work, including invert elevations and operating backhoes.

    + Read and interpret civil and architectural drawings for piping systems.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in hydronic piping, HVAC, and plumbing.

    + Strong supervisory skills with a minimum of 5+ years as a foreman/supervisor in a similar environment.

    + Ability to enforce deadlines and lead a team effectively.

    + Experience with projects such as condominiums, hospitals, hotels, schools, or office buildings.

    + Knowledge of hydronic two or four pipe systems, including install and start-up.

    + Experience with chilled water, condenser water, and hot water heating systems.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Journeyman's license in plumbing/HVAC is preferred but not mandatory.

    + Self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment.

    + Familiarity with performing underground work and using transits.

    The work environment is within a medium-sized mechanical firm specializing in commercial plumbing, including water, sewer ejection, water storage, acid waste systems, gas, sanitary, storm, and domestic water systems. The company is non-union, employing over 200 field employees depending on workload.

    This is a Contract position based out of California, MD.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $68.75 - $71.10/hr.
