The Instructional Design Specialist will provide support for the Office of Administration as part of the Logistics Management Division (LMD) to design and develop training material for online courses and instructor-led training, working with Learning Management System (LMS) to identify and select content as well as provide options on making updates to existing lessons seamlessly.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
+ Work with Branch Chief to identify and assess training objectives and needs, evaluate and strategize training delivery options, and research and develop course materials for both classroom and online training.
+ Analyzes and evaluates current training and training plans to ensure the training is compliant with all federal, departmental, and agency policies and standards.
+ Research an automated training tracking system for over 60 operational guidebook lessons and provide options to Branch Chiefs.
Works with stakeholders to develop and implement the training rollout plan, ensuring training is properly available in the agency’s Learning Management System (LMS) and that the target audience completes the training as required.
Responsibilities
Designs and develops training programs, courses, or other instructional materials or educational tools. Designs learning solutions targeted at employees, students, or clients of the organization. Collaborates with subject matter experts to ensure that content is accurate and thorough. Utilizes multiple formats, including print, audio, visual, and multimedia, and selects the appropriate format for the target audience or content. Evaluates the results of training programs and modifies future programs to better meet training goals. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Qualifications
Requirements
+ Associate degree or higher
+ Skill and expertise (2+ years) using Captivate or other instructional development software.
+ Skill and expertise (3+ years) developing and designing online courses.
+ Basic knowledge and experience in Emergency Management and/or Occupational Health and Safety disciplines
+ Strong technical writing and Microsoft Office Skills, be familiar with MS SharePoint
+ Strong oral and written communications skills
+ Successful completion of corporate background investigation, including criminal and credit check
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a government suitability determination/security clearance
