    _Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a_ **_Machinist 1/2_** _based out of_ **_Apopka, FL._**

    _What You’ll Get to Do_** **_:_

    + _Set up and operation of 2-axis CNC lathe as well as 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mill_

    + _Proficient in material and tool selection_

    + _Beginning to end programming with the use of CAD Cam Software,_

    + _Proficient in material and tool selection_

    + _In-process part inspection as well as final inspection_

    + _Operation of manual lathe and mill_

    + _Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, prototype environment_

    + _Care and maintenance of the equipment_

    + _Maintaining a clean and safe work environment_

    + _Strong attention to detail and accuracy_

    + _Excellent time management skills_

    + _Ability to work independently_

    + _Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence_

    + _High energy, results-oriented, self-motivated/self-reliant, team player_

    + _Motivated to learn and grow skill set as a prototype programmer/machinist_

    + _Able to work overtime and weekends as required_

    + _Able to work in a standing position for extended time periods_

    + _Able to lift or move a minimum of 35 -50 lbs. for up to 12 hours per day; pushing or pulling 35 -50 + lbs. occasionally throughout the workday_

    + _Perform other related work assignments, special projects, and other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor or Shift Lead_

    + _Resolve unforeseen, unique issues as they arise in machining a part(s)_

     

    _*******_ **_NOTE: This position can be filled at either level 1 or level 2._** **_*******_**

     

    **_Basic Qualifications for a Machinist 1_** :

    + _High School Diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum of a 2-year technical degree and/or a certificate in machine shop technology or equivalent work experience_

    + _Experience with CNC lathe and mill operation_

    + _Experience running manual machines and performing set-ups_

    + _Experience reading and interpreting blueprints_

    + _Basic understanding of GD&T and ASME Standards_

    + _Experience in following written set-up instructions and /or performing unique set-ups_

    + _Exposure to a variety of materials and machining processes_

    + _Must be a U.S. citizen_

    **_Basic Qualifications for a Machinist 2_** :

    + _High School Diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum of a 2-year technical degree and/or a certificate in machine shop technology or equivalent work experience_

    + _Candidate must have 4 years of experience on 3 Axis CNC machines_

    + _Experience running manual machines and performing set-ups_

    + _Experience reading and interpreting production specifications, production diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical specifications (English)_

    + _Experience reading and interpreting blueprints_

    + _Higher understanding of GD&T and ASME Standards_

    + _Experience in following written set-up instructions and /or performing unique set-ups_

    + _Experience in complex measurements and advanced shop math calculations relative to tolerances, dimensions, tooling, and feeds and speeds_

    + _Experience with material selection and machining processes_

    + _Must be a U.S. citizen_

    _Preferred Qualifications for a Machinist 1/2_** **_:_

    + _Preferred experience in machining energetic materials_

    + _Mastercam experience preferred_

    + _CAD/CAM programming in a prototype environment_

    + _Experience with OSP and/or Fanuc Controller preferred_

    + _Experience fabricating component parts where set-ups are non-routine, and tolerances are difficult to acquire and maintain_

    + _Exposure to CNC 4 and 5 Axis is a plus_

    + _Work knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and disciplines_

    _Compensation and Pay Range_

    **_Level 1:_** _$47,480 – $61,030_

    **_Level 2:_** _$64,060 – $82,240_

    Primary Level Salary Range: $47,480.00 - $82,240.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
