Job Summary:

Under general direction, this position is responsible for managing and administering leaves of absence (LOA) in compliance with federal, state and local regulations, as well as company policies and programs. Addresses inquiries by applying subject matter expertise to provide information and clarification to employees, managers, and other authorized parties regarding leave programs such as ADA, FMLA, workers’ compensation, short- and long-term disability, etc. Interprets policies, procedures, and regulations to resolve diverse and complex situations. Provides recommendations while performing and documenting the interactive process. Updates and maintains confidential records in the human resource databases and/or electronic systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Manages and administers multi-state leave cases of a diverse scope and complexity and use evaluation, judgement and interpretation to determine the course of action.
+ Advises employees, managers and HR business partners on absence/leaves matters that require analysis and problem-solving techniques to resolve issues of a diverse scope and complexity.
+ Coordinates return-to-work coordination and reasonable accommodation requests that may require unique or creative approaches.
+ Ensures leaves practices are compliant with applicable laws and internal policies, and consistency of processes company wide. Recommends and initiates modifications to department practices based on relevant changes in the laws.
+ Ensures all requests for leaves of absence are handled appropriately and efficiently, and manages all documentation in accordance with company procedures, policy and applicable laws.Collaborates with third party administrators, vendors, legal representatives, insurance carriers etc., to facilitate the leaves administration and claims process: and coordinates with payroll to ensure accurate payments.
+ Identifies, assesses, and implements strategies to mitigate organizational risks and minimize potential impact.
+ Analyzes utilization data, develop insights based on metrics and make recommendations for improvement.
+ Manages system platform integrations and communications by independently resolving issues, coordinating changes and related training, ensuring cross-platform compatibility, and promoting best practices, all while maintaining detailed tracking logs.
+ Responsible for developing, tracking and managing all documentation, notifications, correspondence, administration details, files, etc.
+ Ensures files are retained in accordance with company procedures, policy and applicable federal and state laws.
+ Develop and deliver training and resources to HR teams and leadership on leave[1]related policies and best practices.
+ Provides directions to support staff and less experienced professional staff.

Job Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in Human Resources or a related discipline and six or more years of progressive professional experience in a Human Resources department. May substitute a certificate in human resources from a recognized organization and/or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
+ Must be customer focused and have a comprehensive understanding of LOA, ADA and Workers’ Compensation laws (federal and state).
+ Must have strong interpersonal and written communication skills required to effectively interface with all levels of employees, and management, to explain and interpret complex information.
+ Strong analytical and decision-making skills. • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational abilities.
+ Must possess ability to work in a team environment where collaboration and the knowledge transfer process are critical for success.
+ Must have the ability to contribute to cross-functional HR initiatives as well as LOA specific initiatives.
+ Proficiency with HRIS and leaves management systems used for tracking and administration of LOA.
+ Intermediate to advance skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
+ Must have the ability to work extended hours as required.
