THE POSITION
The Department of Transportation, Bureau of Driver Licensing is currently seeking to fill the position of Clerical Assistant 3, a role that plays a crucial part in facilitating effective communication between team members and the unit's supervisor and manager. This position involves managing the workflow within the unit, ensuring that tasks are appropriately assigned and distributed among staff as needed. Additionally, the Clerical Assistant 3 will be responsible for the training and development of all employees under the supervision of the unit leader, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. If you are interested in contributing to our team and enhancing operational effectiveness, we encourage you to apply now!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will serve as the primary communication link between team members and the unit supervisor and manager. Your responsibilities will include managing workflow, assigning tasks as necessary, and overseeing the training of all employees under the unit supervisor's guidance. Additionally, you will handle the processing of Ignition Interlock Limited License (IILL) petitions, as well as manage cases for customers facing suspension, revocation, disqualification, or cancellation of their driving privileges, all while ensuring compliance with the requirements set forth by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (Title 75).
You will be tasked with ensuring that customers receive proper notifications regarding the return of products and correspondence, in accordance with the regulations of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Vehicle Code (Title 75). This role requires you to exercise independent judgment to assess eligibility for an IILL by reviewing both the petition and the customer’s driving record. If a customer is deemed eligible, you will proceed with processing their petition; conversely, if they are ineligible, you will be responsible for denying the petition. Furthermore, you will perform data entry for IILL petitions and other restoration-related work received by the unit, updating Pennsylvania driver records by processing various forms, statements, and documents submitted by customers whose driving privileges have been suspended, revoked, canceled, or disqualified.
Maintaining an accurate log of all incoming work is essential, as you will need to ensure that mail work is logged into the unit and distributed to staff in the appropriate WID sequence for processing. All other types of work will be allocated based on established protocols, ensuring that the workflow remains efficient and organized.
