Overnight Direct Support Professional (3rd Shift)

Schedule & Pay
• Overnight (3rd shift) hours — employees must remain awake and alert throughout the shift • Pay rate: $19.20/hour • Full-time opportunities available

About the Role
As a 3rd Shift DSP, you’ll: • Remain awake and vigilant throughout the night to monitor the safety and well-being of all residents • Conduct regular rounds to ensure individuals are safe and comfortable • Respond promptly to any resident needs or emergencies during the night • Assist with personal care as needed, including hygiene routines • Perform light housekeeping duties and maintain the cleanliness of the residence • Prepare simple meals or snacks as needed • Support morning routines such as breakfast or transportation when residents begin their day • Document observations and overnight activities accurately • Foster a calm, respectful, and caring environment throughout the shift
Qualifications
Qualifications & Training
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 21 years old with a valid CT driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must successfully complete all required federal, state, and regulatory background checks as a condition of employment, including criminal history, driving record, and a pre-employment physical examination, in accordance with Connecticut and federal law.
• Some computer proficiency for documentation and communication
• All necessary training is provided and paid
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to: • Lift at least 50 pounds (or ¼ your body weight), run, squat, kneel, and climb stairs • Push/pull against potential resistance and perform CPR or physical interventions as needed • Have adequate vision, hearing, and documentation skills • Maintain endurance for tasks over long periods, including overnight hours • Drive safely and respond calmly and effectively to instructions and emergencies (Reasonable accommodations available.)
