Description
Waterford Public Schools has an immediate vacancy for a team-oriented individual. Waterford Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Girls Lacrosse Coach at Waterford High School effective for the Spring of the 2025-26 school year.. The assignment will be determined by the Head Coach based on availability and experience. The Assistant Coach may assist with Varsity and Junior Varsity. Waterford Public Schools serves approximately 2,400 students in grades PK-12. JV Head Coach Duties:
+ Plan and lead all JV practices, skill development sessions, and team meetings.
+ Develop and implement game strategies for the JV team.
+ Provide coaching and guidance to players to improve their skills and lacrosse IQ.
+ Manage substitutions and in-game adjustments during JV contests.
+ Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and effort.
+ Evaluate player progress and provide feedback for individual development.
+ Communicate with the Head Varsity Coach to ensure alignment in program goals and strategies.
+ Support and encourage JV players in their transition to varsity competition.
Varsity Assistant Coach Duties:
+ Assist in varsity practices, drills, and game preparation.
+ Provide support to the Head Coach during varsity games, including sideline management and in-game adjustments.
+ Help with scouting opponents and game-planning.
+ Assist with film review and player evaluations.
+ Support player conditioning and injury prevention efforts.
+ Collaborate with the coaching staff to foster a competitive and supportive team environment.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
+ Previous coaching experience or playing experience in lacrosse.
+ Strong knowledge of lacrosse fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
+ Ability to lead and develop student-athletes in both team and individual settings.
+ Effective communication and leadership skills.
+ CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
+ Ability to pass a background check.
+ CT Coaching certification
Preferred:
+ Experience working with high school athletes.
+ Understanding of strength and conditioning principles for lacrosse players.
+ Previous experience managing a team, including scheduling and team communications.
