The Opportunity:
CACI | Systemware in Herndon, VA is seeking an RF Engineering Intern to assist with the development of bespoke electronic products. The role will interface with a cross-functional team including System Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Software Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers/Technicians, and Sales Associates.
Though wholly owned by CACI, a Fortune 500 company, we function as a boutique LLC comprised of under 100 staff, allowing us to operate like a small business. Our products are used successfully throughout the Commercial, Military, and Intelligence Communities. We pride ourselves on our self-funded product development. You will be required to work 100% on-site.
Responsibilities:
+ Help design, validate, and support the manufacturing of custom 10kHz-50GHz RF Receiver/Transmitter/Antenna designs
+ Write test scripts using Python, Bash or Perl
+ Provide recommendations on design for manufacturing tests
+ Help write procedures for manufacturing tests
+ Develop automated manufacturing test setups
+ Automate RF calibration techniques and noise floor measurements
Qualifications:
_Required:_
+ Must be currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
+ Experience with Python, Bash or Perl
+ Experience with C++ or C#
+ Demonstrate your ability to thrive in both collaborative team environments and independent projects
+ Showcase excellent communication skills and a respectful attitude that fosters a positive work culture
_Desired:_
+ Experience with receiver design (LNA, RF Filtering, Mixers, PLL Synthesizers, A/D)
+ Experience with transmitter design (Up-converter Mixers, Power Amplifiers, Linearity Analysis, D/A)
+ Basic understanding of antenna theory and design
+ Familiarity with cascade analysis (Noise Figure, Min Discernable Signal, Dynamic Range, Saturation)
+ Familiarity with schematic entry, PCB layout, CAM file generation
+ Knowledge of hardware test/debug using Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, PCB Design Tools and RF Simulation Tools (i.e. EMPro, Genesis)
+ Experience in supporting mechanical packaging and enclosure design

**Pay Range** : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$55,600 - $111,100
