Job Summary and Qualifications
The Point of Care Scheduling Manager is responsible for managing all activities related to day-to-day operations of the Point of Care (PoC)/Bedside program. Performs associated processes when necessary to ensure targets and goals are met. Establish and monitor QA audits, tracks, trends performance and productivity by employee. Provides ongoing training and education. Assumes responsibility for staffing, problem solving, and leading by example. The truest intent of PoC/Bedside scheduling is a bedside initiated patient experience, with the objectives of increased contact rate, scheduling immediacy, and improved overall patient experience. The manager will create and maintain a positive customer experience in a patient centered, quality driven environment.
In this role you will:
+ Assist AVP of PoC Scheduling in the oversight of the program.
+ Effectively manage on-site staff while working remotely. Build and maintain relationships with the various stakeholders involved in the program.
+ Perform site visits on a regular cadence and maximize time while on-site.
+ Perform PoC scheduling functions when needed to ensure contact rates remain at goal.
+ Ensure QA is performed on a sample of functions; maintain statistics and reports.
+ Assist with development/creation/maintenance of education materials.
+ Provide continuous training for and communicate changes to existing employees.
+ Prepare payroll and completes monthly work schedules as needed to ensure adequate staffing levels.
+ Follow-up on patient, physician, and facility complaints with urgency and professionalism.
+ Implement and promote excellent customer service.
+ Work closely and professionally with outside stake holds to improve and strengthen the program.
+ Ensure timely scheduling of provider referrals.
+ Interview, hire, evaluate, and counsel staff members.
+ Perform evaluations in a timely manner.
+ Supervise and maintain the productivity of employees.
+ Process all paperwork in a timely manner.
+ Work closely with stakeholders to ensure all procedures are completed in a thorough and timely manner.
+ Complete monthly reports as needed for leadership.
+ Responsible for Department Operation Report, FTEs and Operating budgets.
+ Ensure all personnel policies are followed.
+ Develop and maintain policies and procedures.
+ Effectively manage and direct all areas to ensure quality, productivity, and customer service.
+ Conduct monthly staff meetings for all responsible areas.
+ Assist with Meditech upgrades as deployed.
+ Work closely and professionally with Nursing and Ancillary Departments in an effort to improve the program results.
+ Recommend enough qualified/competent staff.
+ Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising the quality of care of the services delivered.
+ Attends in-service presentations, and complete mandatory education week including, but not limited to, infection control, patient safety, quality improvements, MSDS and OSHA Standards.
+ Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting systems and utilizes systems to report potential patient safety issues.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree required.
+ Three years’ management experience is preferred.
+ ER Experience Preferred
+ Patient Scheduling Preferred
+ Travel will be required
