Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Provide technical support to Energy Systems’ equipment sales, engineering, and environmental permitting teams;
+ Effectively communicate with internal teams, customers and regulators;
+ Review and interpret technical engineering data and engineering submittals packages;
+ Prepare air permit application packages and assist with securing final permits in a timely manner;
+ Support the environmental manager in evaluating and tracking regulatory policy developments, communicating regulatory standards to our equipment sales and engineering teams, and verify equipment compliance with regulatory requirements for our customers; and
+ Highly motivated to continue working in the engineering and air quality environmental field and expand knowledge and experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ 1-5 years of work experience in the engineering, air quality and/or environmental industry in an engineering, environmental compliance, or permitting role;
+ Bachelor’s Degree in related field (engineering or environmental) or equivalent work experience;
+ Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook skills (required);
+ Effective communication, organizational, and time management skills;
+ Desire to learn or develop technical expertise in the standby power generation industry;
+ Excellent oral and written communications skills; and
+ Ability to analyze and interpret the application of rules and regulations, to think critically and develop compliant solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Familiarity with standby power generation and engineering submittals packages;
+ Knowledge and experience with air quality permitting, as well as federal, state, and local air quality regulations, particularly with emergency engines;
+ Experience in the air quality services industry preferred, including air quality permitting in California;
+ Proven record or desire to engage in successful regulatory work with the EPA, CARB, and local regulatory agencies.
+ Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
+ Knowledge of sales, best practices, business processes, project management, and commercial systems;
+ Excellent sales, interpersonal, management, and analytical skills;
+ Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Effective time management skills with the ability to handle shifting workloads and priorities.
+ Ability to stay calm while de-escalating customers in high pressure situations.
+ Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
**Physical Demands** : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
