Job Description

As a Welder Fitter Apprentice, you will perform TIG/MIG welding on various assemblies and assist journeyman welders with fit-up and fabrication tasks. You will be required to read and interpret blueprints, use fixtures, and operate hand grinders. This position is located on-site in El Cajon, CA, with a four-day workweek **6am-4:30pm OR 4pm-2:30am Monday-Thursday**

Responsibilities

+ Perform TIG/MIG welding on assemblies.

+ Assist journeyman welders with fit-up and fabrication according to drawings.

+ Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

+ Use fixtures to complete tasks.

+ Operate hand grinders efficiently.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Experience with welding assembly and fixture usage.

+ Understanding of GTAW and GMAW techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Possession of a personal welding hood.

+ Willingness to work on assigned jobs both inside and outside the welding field.

+ Ability to fabricate parts under supervision.

Work Environment

This position requires on-site work in El Cajon, CA, four days a week. The role involves using various welding equipment and hand tools, with tasks performed both indoors and outdoors.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
