    Job Title: Engineering Operations ManagerJob Description

     

    We have an immediate opening for an Engineering Operations Manager to lead and mentor the engineering activities of our organization, aiming to maximize growth and profitability. This role requires exceptional technical communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineering staff, various departments, customers, and vendors. The position involves travel to support company or customer needs, including installations, training, and testing globally.

    Responsibilities

    + Direct and coordinate the operation of engineering activities for new and existing products.

    + Ensure formal processes support the product development process aligned with operational objectives.

    + Implement and audit policies, procedures, and controls for the engineering department.

    + Support management in developing and coordinating programs.

    + Assess risks and plan mitigations with the Chief Engineer for all engineering deliverables.

    + Review and approve staff time allocations, adjusting assignments to meet project and budget goals.

    + Provide direction, motivation, and guidance to staff as both a manager and mentor.

    + Resolve schedule and budgeting conflicts with engineering team leads and Program Management Office.

    + Support recruitment by disseminating technical requirements and screening candidates.

    + Verify contracts with vendors and third parties meet organizational needs.

    + Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer on the Engineering Department's performance.

    + Audit and report on the quality of the Engineering Department’s deliverables.

    + Communicate professionally across all modes of communication.

    + Develop the departmental budget in consultation with the Chief Engineer.

    + Assist in staff selection and hiring to meet scheduled commitments.

    + Support the CEO in personnel administration and coordination of engineering teams.

    + Assist Business Development in preparing Bids, Proposals, and ROMs for engineering resources.

    + Ensure intellectual property rights are maintained and protected.

    + Maintain and track compliance with ITAR procedures.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent credentials.

    + 15–25 years of direct engineering experience in the aerospace industry with project ownership and personnel supervision.

    + 5 years of experience managing team expenses and tasks within a schedule.

    + Ability to train personnel in engineering project management including planning, budgeting, and performance tracking.

    + Experience establishing contractual relationships with customers and vendors.

    + Experience with ERP and project tracking software such as Oracle Primavera and Atlassian JIRA.

    + Experience with PDM software like Solidworks EPDM and Autodesk Vault.

    + Ability to evaluate detailed 3D designs and CAD drawings.

    + Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

    + Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Teams.

    + Experience with government regulatory bodies such as the Department of Defense or FAA.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience maintaining control over intellectual property rights and ITAR/CG regulations.

    + Experience with fabrication or machining of metallic components and composites.

    + Experience with design work from conceptual to manufacturing stages.

    + Experience with functional and structural testing of aerospace flight hardware.

    + Experience with structural analysis methods using resources like MMPDS and Bruhn.

    Work Environment

    This position is based onsite in Brooksville, FL, with a 4-day work week from Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, approximately 45 hours per week. It involves 3–4 trips per year to Canada and 3–4 customer visits per year to domestic and foreign military bases. The employment type is Contract-to-Hire with a long-term opportunity.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $160000.00/hr.
