We are seeking an intermediate Interior Designer with a strong passion for healthcare projects and a creative, collaborative mindset. This individual should possess exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven ability to lead design concepts from vision to execution. The role requires a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and demonstrates leadership in guiding junior staff.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the development of interior design concepts aligned with client vision, architectural intent, and project requirements.
+ Implement design concepts into construction documents, including detailing, schedules, and contract documentation.
+ Coordinate team efforts to ensure effective execution of project design and delivery of implementation documents.
+ Develop and manage workplans for implementation projects; provide oversight and direction to junior staff as needed.
+ Collaborate with multiple interior designers and take direction from Lead or Senior Interior Designers.
+ Prepare and confidently present design concepts and drawings to clients and user groups.
+ Facilitate consultant coordination on interior renovation projects with support from Project Architect.
+ Manage coordination with furniture dealers and manufacturers to achieve project vision.
+ Ensure compliance with healthcare project complexities, including building codes, FGI guidelines, medical equipment, and MEP requirements.
+ Uphold high standards of professionalism, presentation, and documentation throughout all phases of the project.
+ Utilize strong technical skills in Revit, Bluebeam, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite.
+ Explore regenerative and AI-informed design strategies and embrace innovative workflows.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Revit.
+ Experience in design, schematic design, and design development.
+ Ability in construction document creation and construction administration.
+ Commercial experience, particularly with an interest in healthcare.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
+ NCIDQ certification or a plan to obtain it.
Work Environment
The work environment is highly collaborative, utilizing the NYC, DC, and Richmond, VA offices to staff all projects. The position offers a flexible in-office/remote schedule, typically requiring three days in the office. However, during the first 30 days, employees are encouraged to be in the office for four or more days to acclimate to the firm and the team. The company is renowned in the architecture and design industry, focusing on healthcare and commercial projects, and actively offsets costs for licenses and parking with additional compensation if needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
