Lead Process Engineer
Job Description
The Lead Process Engineer is responsible for overseeing the discipline at a project level and managing the project discipline budget on simple to complex projects of all sizes. The role requires a thorough understanding of the development and field implementation of documents across all project phases. The Lead Engineer must coordinate with internal and external parties, manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities, and direct the work of others.
Responsibilities
+ Plan and direct work and manage a project budget from a discipline design perspective on large complex projects.
+ Collaborate with the Project Manager on proposal development, man-hour planning, and project scheduling for the discipline scope of work on intermediate-level projects.
+ Lead interactions with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
+ Oversee the discipline at a project level and manage the project discipline budget on projects of all sizes.
+ Conduct quality checking of documents for complex projects, including technical verification of design calculations and documentation, and drive overall project quality.
+ Coordinate with internal and external parties, manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities, and direct the work of others.
+ Develop and deliver intermediate-level internal discipline design and engineering training presentations.
+ Direct and manage the workflows and execution of design and engineering support staff to meet client expectations and project goals.
+ Oversee the production of deliverables or lead activities which require more experience, deeper understanding, or involve more complexity.
+ Participate in or facilitate Risk Assessments, HAZOPs, and 3D Model Review and Coordination.
+ Prepare field reports and participate in commissioning and startup activities.
Essential Skills
+ ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience for Lead position.
+ Experience in design firms, operating companies, or construction-related projects within the market sector.
+ Extensive experience with applicable industry or regulatory guidance and local building codes.
+ Experience leading projects.
+ Proficiency with chilled water, purified water, clean steam, process waste, process gas, and high purity utility systems.
+ Experience with ASMEBPE standard and cGMP/GMP standards.
+ Proficiency in developing P&ID, equipment specifications, and sizing calculations.
+ Life Science industry experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Professional Engineering License.
+ Effective leader with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Diverse experience across a variety of facilities, equipment, and systems used in the life sciences industry.
+ Proficiency in Revit.
Work Environment
The role requires a minimum of three days in the office, with core days being Tuesday. The work environment involves designing process utility systems, leading detail design projects, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines. The role may also involve setting up and leading Process Utility meetings.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conshohocken, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62.50 - $100.96/hr.
