Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Description
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing innovative products for the utility inspection market. Utilizing embedded vision systems, you will create complex designs that integrate motor control, analog, digital, and high-speed elements. This role involves designing, debugging, and testing prototype components while collaborating within a cross-functional organization. You will also have opportunities to lead project teams, provide work direction to other engineers, and contribute to engineering-wide process improvements as a subject matter expert.
Responsibilities
+ Design and layout complex circuitry involving brushed and brushless motor controls.
+ Create complex electronic circuits, subsystems, systems, and products.
+ Layout circuits and systems which may include analog, digital, microprocessor, high voltage/power circuitry, and motor control circuitry.
+ Write test plans and perform evaluation testing during the design process.
+ Provide technical support for existing products, including quality assessment, failure analysis, and product improvement activities.
+ Serve as a point of contact or business liaison and prepare briefings for Senior management.
+ Assist in reviewing and approving subcontractor plans, specifications, and objectives.
+ Lead project teams and provide work direction to other engineers.
+ Write manufacturing and test procedures and reports.
+ Provide technical support to sales and marketing for bids and proposals.
Essential Skills
+ 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
+ Experience with motion control and motor control design.
+ Proficiency in circuit design, firmware, PCB layout, and circuit simulation.
+ Extensive experience with schematic capture and PCB layout, preferably using Altium.
+ Familiarity with microprocessor/microcontroller development tools.
+ Experience in design, repair, and analysis of electronic systems.
+ Ability to understand detailed component and product specifications.
+ Technical competency commensurate with a BSEE degree or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Matlab.
+ Knowledge of grounding, noise mitigation, and EMI reduction techniques.
+ Experience with designing for CE, FCC, TUV, UKCA, and other certifying bodies.
+ Experience with designing for manufacturability and serviceability.
+ Power supply design to support analog & digital circuitry.
+ Experience with single and multi-element optical detectors and their readout circuits.
+ Experience with camera vision systems.
+ Familiarity with optical sources and their drive circuits.
+ Experience in digital design and motion control of DC brushed/brushless and stepper motors.
+ Embedded programming experience in up to 32-bit microcontrollers.
Work Environment
This role follows a hybrid schedule, requiring at least three days per week in the office from Monday to Friday. Most work is performed in an office environment, with occasional trips to utility or contractor facilities for research and testing. Overnight travel may be necessary to fulfill certain duties.

This is a Contract position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $67.00/hr.
