Central District Health (CDH) (https://cdh.idaho.gov/) is searching for a motivated individual to join our dedicated group of public health professionals as our Nutrition Health Educator with ourHealth Policy and Promotion (https://cdh.idaho.gov/health/prevention-programs/) team. This position is based in our Boise office.

Typical Duties:
+ Plan and implement nutrition initiatives in alignment with program goals, grant requirements, and community health priorities;
+ Track the annual nutrition program budget, including personnel and operating expenditures; maintain documentation for funder reporting;
+ Manage sub‑grants, contracts, and mini‑grants as applicable that support nutrition and food‑access activities; ensure compliance and timely deliverables;
+ Develop and submit a district‑wide, annual nutrition action plan with community partners, specifying deliverables and benchmarks;
+ Develop and submit an annual nutrition program report summarizing the previous year’s activities, reach, and impact;
+ Conduct evidence‑based nutrition education and training across CDH’s footprint, tailored to low‑literacy and diverse populations;
+ Participate in community events on behalf of CDH;
+ Serve as a subject‑matter expert on nutrition best practices, behavior change, and community health; provide technical assistance;
+ Collaborate with CDH grant writing staff to identify, apply for, and manage alternate funding sources for program sustainability;
+ Engage in professional development, including state and national conferences and trainings to maintain current best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Good knowledge of:
+ Public health education principles and practices to include needs assessment, information dissemination and community organization relating to common health problems.
+ Basic disease etiologies and preventive strategies.
+ Survey methods and basic statistics used to collect and interpret data.
+ Training methods.
Experience:
+ Developing or reviewing and evaluating health-related informational material.
