Description

We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in Pleasant Hill, California. This seasonal role involves preparing 1040 individual tax returns, including schedules C and D, using tax software such as Lacerte. This is a position requiring a commitment of five days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual tax returns, including complex filings such as schedules C and D.

• Utilize Lacerte or comparable tax software to efficiently complete tax documentation.

• Review and analyze client financial data to ensure accurate tax preparation.

• Maintain knowledge of current tax regulations and apply them to client filings.

• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and address inquiries.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws.

• Deliver timely and accurate tax documents within specified deadlines.

• Assist with identifying potential deductions and credits to optimize client returns.

• Uphold confidentiality and secure handling of client financial information.

Requirements • Proven experience in preparing individual tax returns, including schedules C and D.

• Proficiency with Lacerte or similar tax software.

• Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work five days a week during the contract period.

• Effective communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.

• Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and data security.
