As a full‑time Co‑Pilot based in Fargo, you’ll support the Pilot in operating company aircraft for official business travel—assisting with flight planning, preflight checks, and in‑flight operations to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. This role is designed for developing pilots (minimum ~450 total hours) and offers active mentorship with a clear path toward Pilot/PIC.
Butler Machinery operates two late‑model Pilatus PC‑12 aircraft with a two‑pilot crew, carrying employees and customers across our territory and around the country for business. Our proactive scheduling means very few short‑notice flights, with weekends and holidays respected as the norm—delivering a high quality of life for our pilots. Responsibilities:
+ Assists the Pilot with trip planning, including destination airports, flight times, fuel, ground transportation, and passenger accommodations.
+ Supports cleaning aircraft (interior/exterior), stocking supplies, and readiness checks before scheduled flights.
+ Acts as Second-in-Command (SIC), performing assigned trips, monitoring systems, and supporting safe operation under the PIC’s direction.
+ Maintains required landings, instrument approaches, and annual recurrent training.
90-day/night currency landings. 6-month instrument approach currency. Annual recurrent training.
+ Communicates discrepancies to Chief Pilot (airworthiness, scheduled maintenance, pop-up issues).
+ Works within and promotes vision, mission, and values of BMC.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Applicant must have 450 hours of total Airplane flying time, with 20 hours of turbine time.
+ Part 91 Flying Experience.
+ Required actual instrument 20 hours.
+ 100 Airplane flight hours within the last 12 months, preferred
+ High Altitude Endorsement
+ Complex Endorsement
+ High Performance Endorsement
+ Commercial Pilot Certificate
+ 2nd Class Medical Certificate
