    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly motivated Controller to join a newly established commercial construction company dedicated to delivering high-quality construction in the metro area. This unique opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment and is excited to create and implement accounting systems, processes, and reporting structures to support long-term scalability.

    Responsibilities

    + Build and implement the company’s accounting platform, systems, and financial processes.

    + Manage day-to-day accounting including Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable, payroll coordination, job costing, banking relationships, and cash flow management.

    + Produce accurate financial statements, Work In Progress (WIP) schedules, and job cost reports.

    + Partner with project managers to track budgets, change orders, and project profitability.

    + Maintain project-specific financial records.

    + Assist in compliance requirements such as lien waivers, insurance certificates, and state & federal tax filings/regulations.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of accounting experience.

    + Proficiency in accounting software.

    + Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reports, and construction financial workflows.

    + Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to work independently and build processes from scratch.

    + Strong communication and collaboration skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Construction accounting experience preferred.

    Work Environment

    This position is located in Minnetonka, where you will be the only person in accounting, working on site 5 days a week. The company is small, offering a startup environment where you can create processes and integrate systems.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Minnetonka, MN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $170000.00/yr.

     

    Benefits: 100% paid employee premium for health care, dental, vision, short term disability, long term disability, and life insurance.

     

    Workplace Type

     

    This is a fully onsite position in Minnetonka,MN.
