COMPENSATION
Salary Range: Min. $96,277 - Max. $136,290, Grade D
UTLO: $142,650
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, reviewing all
elements of project design and /or changes to the design pertaining to signals capital
modernization projects requested by MTA C&D. The selected candidate will also conduct field
visits to confirm specs and designs are being followed as written. In addition, the selected
candidate may be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the operation and
oversight of a Signals unit: round-the -clock inspection, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation and
testing of rapid transit signal train control systems to ensure safe and reliable rapid transit
operations: supervising the material acquisition and distribution function for a signal unit, as well
as, on-site management of emergency response by Signals maintenance and repair
personnel. This position may be also responsible for material forecasting, acquisition,
distribution and fabrication of Signal components, as well as assisting senior management in
strategic planning, policy and productivity review. Develops new initiatives for maintenance
practices, capital construction projects, engineering projects and new technology initiatives.
Plans, budgets, oversees and documents all aspects of projects, in coordination with other
departments and external contractors. Manage changes to project scope, project schedules and
project costs. The selected candidate will also measure project performance using appropriate
information technology applications, systems and established processes as well as communicate
project scope, schedule, and budget with upper managers and contractors
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Public Administration or a related field of study is preferred but not required
Six (6) years’ experience, of which three (3) must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of rapid transit signal, transit signal train control systems or railroad operations, rapid transit equipment testing, inspection, repair, reconstruction, installation and rehabilitation. • Knowledge of project management, risk management, and reliability improvement. • Knowledge of information technology applications, systems and processes.
