We’re looking for a Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 4 to take the lead in issuing licenses, registrations, titles, and reinstatements — including administering road tests and handling complex, high-pressure situations.
This position involves assisting customers operating commercial vehicles traveling on public roadways. The role enforces all applicable motor vehicle laws, rules, and regulations, as well as relevant federal laws. Responsibilities include reviewing required documentation, collecting fees for Louisiana and other jurisdictions, and providing professional customer service to all carriers.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent plus three years of experience or training in any field.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
May be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license at the time of appointment.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
* Interprets, applies, and enforces all motor vehicle laws, rules, and regulations.
* Responsible for compiling statistics for daily, weekly and monthly reports of productions, inventories, sales of inspection stickers, and Risk Management reports. These reports are submitted to the Motor Vehicle Region Manager/Field. Responsible for the daily deposits of all funds collected, verifying the accuracy of supporting reports and the physical bank deposit.
* Maintains a thorough knowledge of driver's license (commercial and private) laws pertaining to eligibility and issuance of such licenses.
* Responsible for maintaining all office equipment and vehicles owned by the Office of Motor Vehicles. Additionally, this position is required to be in compliance at all times with the guidelines of maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
* Maintains good public relations with the general public, public officials, lending institutions, auto dealers, notaries, Public Tag Agents, etc., in order to provide efficient and effective service. Incumbent is responsible for promoting a positive image as a representative of the Office of Motor Vehicles/Field.
* Serves as regulatory consultant over statewide driving schools and their operational staff. Assists by providing interpretation of laws, rules, policies, and procedures and guidance of administering the driver education program.
Position-Specific Information:
Appointment Type: This is aPROMOTIONALopportunity for classified, permanent employees of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety, Office of Motor Vehicles.
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The Special Entrance Rate bi-weekly rate for this position is as follows:
Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 4 (AS611) - $1,487.20
The Motor Vehicle Compliance Analysts receive an additional hourly amount added to their base pay depending on how long they have worked for the Louisiana OMV. This, in addition to other types of pay including market adjustments and promotions.
