• Anesthesia Technician

    UPMC Children's Hospital is seeking a full-time Flex Anesthesia Technician to support our growing case volume at the CHP North Campus Surgery Center. This position is scheduled for Monday-Thursday daylight shifts, offering an excellent work-life balance with no nights or weekends.

     

    The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical experience, with anesthesia technician experience preferred. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting anesthesia providers and ensuring efficient, high-quality perioperative care across a dynamic surgical environment.

    Responsibilities:

    + Manage anesthesia supplies, drugs, and inventory; stock carts and surgical suites per par levels.

    + Transport, set up, test, maintain, and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment, including gas machines and specialty devices.

    + Support on-site and off-site anesthesia cases; assist with room turnovers to minimize downtime.

    + Assist anesthesia providers with patient preparation, IVs, invasive lines, airway management, and specialty procedures.

    + Disassemble, decontaminate, sterilize equipment, and report equipment issues.

    + Operate Blood Cell Saver and perform approved point-of-care testing.

    + Deliver lab samples, retrieve blood products, and support perioperative care.

    + Communicate effectively with OR and anesthesia staff; maintain accessibility and accurate records.

    + Keep work areas clean, organized, and fully stocked.

    + High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of anesthesia, emergency/medical or related experience required or Graduate from an accredited Anesthesia Tech school or program requiredLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + ASATT Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) preferred

    + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

    + Act 33 with renewal

    + Act 34 with renewal

    + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
