Position Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing the Security Officers and ensures the safety and security of our employees, patrons and the company’s assets.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

+ Assists with the hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and counseling of the Security staff

+ Investigates and records all occurrences and incidents within the facility, including but not limited to, the gaming floor, retail area and hotel

+ Responds to complaints, ejections, medical and assistance calls, as needed

+ Detains persons involved in illegal activity and notifies the appropriate law enforcement officials

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Ensures the accurate flow of information and communications between all levels including changes that affect the department

+ Assists with directing the staff regarding compliance with department policies and procedures, regulations and internal controls

+ Maintains department logs and paperwork

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

+ High School Diploma or equivalent

+ Three years of experience as a Security Officer in a high volume, complex casino environment or three years of experience in security or law enforcement

Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills

+ Basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook

Training Requirements:

+ Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures

+ Must complete the all appropriate Human Resources Supervisor Training courses

+ Understanding of Ascent, EmpowerTime and Manager Self Service systems

+ CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen certification

+ SMART alcohol awareness

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

+ Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

+ Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time

+ Ability to respond to emergency situations in a expedited manner

+ Possible exposure to unknown health and safety hazards and physical altercation

+ Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
