Job Summary and Qualifications
Efficiently and accurately identifies med orders, fills, charges, credits and performs related functions as necessary.
• Efficiently and accurately completes outdated med checks, emergency kit checks, performance improvement and other assignments.
• Performs unit dosing of bulk medications and ensures the Pyxis machines are stocked appropriately
• Orders medications through wholesaler and outside pharmacies as directed by Pharmacist
• Inspects medication rooms for safety issues, compliance and cleanliness.
• Interacts with coworkers in a manner which encourages quality of patient services harmonious working relationships, positive customer relations and enhances the image/reputation of the facility
• Adheres to hospital polices and procedures
• Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the Code of Conduct
• Conduct reflects the Company’s values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct
• Understands that failure to follow established SOP’s for hazardous drugs could potentially lead to risk of adverse effects which may include but not limited to skin rashes, reproductive effects, chronic effects, and cancer.
• Performs other duties as requested or required
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent. Must have state pharmacy tech license (TSBP) and certification through PTCB. If applicant is a pharmacist-intern, applicant won’t need a separate pharmacy technician registration. Previous hospital experience preferred. BLS certification required within 90 days of hire and must be maintained annually.
