    Job Title: Structural Design Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team in designing heavy foundations and structural steel for nuclear power plants and other industrial projects. The role involves designing pipe racks to understand loads and working on small-scale tank foundations and structures.

    Responsibilities

    + Design heavy foundations and structural steel components for nuclear power plants.

    + Develop structural and civil designs for conventional generation projects, including simple cycle power plants.

    + Perform dynamic analysis and deep foundation design for large rotating equipment.

    + Design ductwork and heavy industrial components for emission control projects.

    + Review relevant codes, design documents, specifications, and construction documents to support structural design and project development.

    + Perform structural calculations and develop engineering reports, studies, specifications, and design drawings.

    + Prepare engineering designs and drawings based on contracted scope of work and project specifications within established budgets and schedules.

    + Collaborate with multi-discipline engineers and designers to ensure project success.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering, particularly in utility, power plant, or heavy industrial projects.

    + Proficiency in structural calculations, design studies, and use of industry standard engineering software such as STAAD Pro, ANSYS, and Mathcad.

    + Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.

    + Experience with seismic analysis and design of structures, systems, and components for nuclear power plants.

    + Proficiency with AutoDesk Advance Steel.

    + Professional Engineering (PE) license in any state within the US, with the ability to obtain additional licenses through comity.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
