    Position Summary:

    Under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist, provides treatment programs for physical therapy patients. Monitors patients' progress and modifies treatment plans as per the physical therapist.

    Responsibilities

    + Administers treatment programs, including specialized treatment.

    + Monitors patient progress and makes recommendations accordingly to the physical therapist.

    + Documents patient progress in medical records for assigned patients.

    + Provides input for patient care and discharge planning with other health professionals.

    + Supervises technicians assigned to his/her team.

    + Adheres to the "Definition and Utilization of the Physical Therapist Assistant" as stated in the current American Physical Therapy Association policy.

    + Coordinates activities with other team members, physicians, and various hospital departments.

    + Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education:

    None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

    Minimum Experience:

    None,One (1) year experience preferred.

    Licensure Requirement:

    Licensed in the State of Tennessee. CPR required.Professional organization membership preferred.
