CTG is seeking to fill a **Security Consultant - Application Security** opening for our premier client in Dallas, Texas.
**Location:** Dallas, TX
**Duration:** 3 months
Description:
This specialty helps client IT and business executives understand Application security issues, risks, exposures, and vulnerabilities using interviews, workshops and assessments. They provide consulting services to analyze and resolve security incidents and to work with the client to achieve an overall superior security posture. By applying security principles and knowledge of Application Security technologies, Threat models, DevSecOps concepts and best practices, they define business drivers and develop associated App & DevSecOps security strategy, programs, incident response plans, and remediation recommendations and roadmaps.
Responsibilities:
+ Monitor and prioritize security alerts and vulnerabilities for timely remediation.
+ Manage penetration tests and vulnerability assessments, addressing findings effectively.
+ Collaborate on code and architecture reviews, providing actionable security recommendations.
+ Build and maintain threat models to strengthen risk management.
+ Assist teams with vulnerability remediation using standard tools.
+ Support incident response for quick detection and resolution of security issues.
+ Stay updated on emerging threats and best practices, translating insights into guidance.
+ Provide expertise in risk management, compliance, and client communications.
Required Skills:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 4+ years in application or software security roles.
+ Hands-on experience identifying and fixing security vulnerabilities in web, mobile, or financial apps.
+ Knowledge of AWS, Git, and vulnerability tools.
+ Ability to analyze source code (TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Java, Swift).
+ Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, CWE, CVSS, and security standards.
+ Familiarity with authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0, JWT) and cryptographic practices.
+ Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to work remotely.
+ Passion for continuous learning in security trends.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
