Position Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant supports clinical operations within a behavioral health and evaluation setting by assisting with patient intake, monitoring vital signs, documenting in the electronic medical record, and supporting care teams in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing behavioral, emotional, or withdrawal-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities
+ Prepare and maintain patient charts, complete intake procedures, and document all care accurately in the EMR.
+ Obtain and record vital signs, assist with triage, and support patient flow throughout the unit.
+ Perform phlebotomy, immunizations, point-of-care testing, DBS collection, and specimen handling as applicable to the setting.
+ Collaborate closely with nursing and clinical teams to support patients experiencing behavioral escalation or withdrawal symptoms.
+ Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients, ensuring they understand procedures and feel supported during care.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Active Certified Medical Assistant credential (CCMA, CMA, or equivalent).
+ Current BLS/CPR certification (required).
+ Phlebotomy certification (preferred or required depending on facility need).
+ Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in outpatient, behavioral health, urgent care, detox-adjacent, or similar care environments.
+ Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic experience preferred).
+ Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights.
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local compliance requirements.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
