About the Role:
KidsPeace is seekingdedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to join theirbehavioral health team. The Mental Health Technician provides direct care toadolescents with psychiatric conditions and substance use disorders, followingthe guidance of physicians, nurses, and other licensed practitioners.
Inthis role, the MHT is responsible for monitoring patient safety, supportingemotional and physical well - being, and reporting observations directly tomedical staff. This position requires strong communication skills, the abilityto remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide direct support to adolescent patients with behavioral health and substance use needs.
+ Monitor patient safety, behavior, and emotional status throughout the shift.
+ Assist with crisis prevention and de - escalation using approved techniques.
+ Follow treatment plans and instructions from clinical staff.
+ Document observations and patient interactions accurately and promptly.
+ Support therapeutic activities and structured programming.
+ Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for all patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent (required).
+ Associate’s degree in behavioral studies or related field preferred (or per facility requirements).
+ Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable).
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X - ray (if applicable).
+ Current health certificate per state or contract requirements.
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
