    Job Description

    Mount Pleasant Correctional Facilities’ mission is Helping People Become Their Best. To accomplish our mission, the person selected for this position shall be able to demonstrate emotional intelligence, leadership, adaptability and empathy while working with employees, incarcerated individuals and the public.

     

    MPCF is looking to hire a full-time Storekeeper 3. This person will manage the day to day operations of the storeroom/warehouse for all MPCF inventory items.

    Typical responsibilities of a Storekeeper 3:

    + Receiving - Receive all shipments coming into the facility and verify for accuracy.

    + Coordinating - Pick all food needed to feed the institution and deliver orders inside on a daily basis.

    + Delivering - Coordinate and deliver all supplies to various departments within the institution.

    + Record Keeping - Keep accurate records of all inventory, receiving, and distribution of items.

    + Managing - Manage the warehouse/storeroom to keep all operations efficient, neat and orderly.

    Competencies Required for a Storekeeper 3:

    + Must be able to drive a state owned vehicle and operate a fork lift.

    + Must be able to lift, push and pull various sizes of boxes and containers.

    + Must be able to manage time and work independently to get a job done.

    + Must provide excellent customer service.

    Minimum Qualification Requirements

    Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

    + Three years of full-time work experience in clerical, inventory, stores, supply, or warehousing work.

    + Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes twelve months of full-time work as a Storekeeper 2.

    Additional Qualification Requirements

     

    Designated positions in this class require possession of a valid Commercial Learner's Permit upon hire. Within a timeframe determined by the appointing authority, a valid Commercial Driver's License with the required endorsements and applicable restrictions must be obtained and subsequently maintained to continue employment.
