Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role involves daily maintenance tasks, plant inspections, and troubleshooting of various mechanical and electrical systems within the manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities
+ Complete daily work order lists and conduct plant inspections.
+ Repair and troubleshoot gear boxes, drivers, conveyors, and motors.
+ Repair and diagnose issues with packaging equipment.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing plant equipment.
+ Work with five pistons operating at 2000 RPM, heat exchangers, and gauge systems.
+ Replace sprockets, gear boxes, and three-phase motors.
+ Read and interpret blueprints and P & ID loops (piping prints).
+ Troubleshoot relays, wiring, and high voltage electrical systems.
+ Pull wires and run conduit for electrical systems.
+ Understand maintenance of boilers and steam generation for plant temperature control.
+ Comprehend refrigeration systems (Freon and Ammonia) with CFC Universal knowledge.
+ Possess welding/fabrication skills (preferred).
+ Maintain and use personal tools for maintenance tasks.
Essential Skills
+ Five years of mechanic experience.
+ Basic electrical skills for troubleshooting.
+ Mechanical skills relevant to industrial plant manufacturing.
+ Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, air compressors, and refrigeration.
+ Ability to read P & ID prints.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ PLC troubleshooting (preferred).
+ Welding and fabrication skills (preferred).
+ Knowledge of boiler systems.
+ Stationary Engineering License (Maryland 1st or DC 3rd, preferred).
+ Great attitude and work ethic.
+ Flexibility to work different shifts with advance notice.
+ Ability to adapt and adjust to varied daily tasks.
+ Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and help as needed.

Work Environment
Work in a dynamic manufacturing environment with operations running 24/7. The facility is unionized, and shift assignments are based on seniority, typically starting on the night shift. Be prepared for a flexible schedule with advance notice, and occasional on-call duties. The plant's operations include processing, packaging, and shipping to major clients in the DMV.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LANDOVER, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.91 - $38.91/hr.
