    Description

    A well-established public accounting firm in Carlsbad is seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to support individual and small business clients during a high-volume tax season. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with tax filings, ensuring accuracy, and staying current with evolving tax regulations. You will play a key role in preparing compliant, timely returns while maintaining strong attention to detail and client confidentiality.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Prepare federal and state individual and business tax returns

    + Review client financial documents including W-2s, 1099s, and K-1s

    + Ensure accurate application of tax laws, deductions, and credits

    + Organize and maintain complete tax files and supporting documentation

    + Communicate with internal teams regarding client data and filing status

    + Assist with extensions, amendments, and tax notices as needed

    + Maintain compliance with firm procedures and deadlines

    Requirements

    + 3+ years of tax preparation experience

    + Strong knowledge of individual and small business tax filings

    + Familiarity with tax software (Lacerte, ProSeries, UltraTax, or similar)

    + High level of accuracy and attention to detail

    + Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    + Strong organizational and communication skills
