    Description

    Client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee corporate accounting and financial operations, with a strong emphasis on Accounts Receivable and financial reporting. This role plays a key part in supporting a Japan-based parent company, requiring Japanese bilingual reading comprehension to review financial documents, contracts, and correspondence. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a multinational corporate environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Corporate Accounting & Financial Operations

     

    + Manage day-to-day corporate accounting functions including GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals

    + Lead month-end and year-end close processes

    + Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses

    + Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies

    + Support audits, tax preparation, and external financial reviews

     

    Accounts Receivable (Primary Focus)

     

    + Oversee full-cycle Accounts Receivable including invoicing, collections, cash application, and aging reports

    + Monitor customer accounts and resolve discrepancies

    + Partner with internal teams to address billing and payment issues

    + Improve AR processes to enhance cash flow and operational efficiency

     

    Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

     

    + Supervise and mentor accounting staff (as applicable)

    + Work closely with Operations, Sales, HR, and Executive Leadership

    + Provide financial insights to support business decision-making

     

    Japanese Language & International Support

     

    + Review and comprehend Japanese-language financial documents, contracts, and reports

    + Support accounting communication involving the Japan-based parent company

    + Ensure accuracy and consistency between U.S. and Japan financial documentation

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    + 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

    + Strong Accounts Receivable management experience

    + Japanese bilingual reading comprehension required

    + Solid knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting practices

    + Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
