Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) is an integral member of the anesthesia care team, responsible for providing direct and indirect support to the Anesthesiologist or CRNA in the preparation, delivery, and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies. This role ensures a safe and efficient environment for patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
+ **Equipment Management:** Prepares, calibrates, troubleshoots, and cleans anesthesia machines, monitors (ECG, SpO2, NIBP, EtCO2), ventilators, and other anesthesia-related equipment.
+ **Supply Preparation:** Stocks and organizes anesthesia carts and workstations, ensuring the availability of necessary medications, airway management supplies, intravenous fluids, and emergency equipment.
+ **Patient Support (Indirect):** Assists with patient positioning, airway management preparations, and other tasks as directed by the anesthesia provider.
+ **Maintenance & Sterilization:** Performs routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment; ensures proper sterilization and disinfection protocols are followed.
+ **Documentation:** Maintains accurate records of equipment checks, supply inventories, and other relevant information.
+ **Safety & Compliance:** Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including infection control and hazardous waste management.
+ **Collaboration:** Communicates effectively with anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Job Requirements
Our Anesthesia Tech's provide safe, efficient, cost-effective anesthesia care and provides support for routine and complex medical procedures by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before and during anesthesia.
This position assists the anesthesiologist/anesthetist by operating and maintaining complex equipment needed in major surgical procedures.
+ Assembles and operates autotransfusion device (Cell Saver). Provides information to attending physicians, residents, RNs and other peer staff regarding different anesthetic devices and supplies.
+ Educates and orients new staff and residents on different physiological monitors and supplies.
+ Performs ACT analysis, intra-aortic balloon (IAB) pump methods, and glucose tests; responsible for the proper function and maintenance of the machines involved in these procedures.
+ Performs anesthesia machine check.
+ Assembles and checks anesthesia delivery system; manages the calibration of EtCo2 monitor.
+ Ensures readiness of basic airway and specialty cart; calibrates O2 monitor; determines readiness of other equipment (ECG, BP, Temp, and SPO2 machines) to prevent interference.
+ Assists with arterial line, CVP and PA placement.
+ Assists with airway management; ensures rapid sequence/cricoid press, Fiberoptic equipment is ready for use.

Pay Range
$38.82 - $53.41 /hour
