School Counselor – $42/hr – Manor, TX – Full-Time

Position Overview:

Amergis is seeking a School Counselor to provide individual and group counseling to elementary students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges. The counselor will support students in developing coping strategies, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing overall mental well-being. This role involves collaboration with families, teachers, and school staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment and facilitate referrals to community-based mental health services when needed.

Assignment Details:

+ Location: Manor, TX

+ Start Date: January 7, 2026

+ End Date: May 28, 2026

+ Schedule: 37.5 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

+ Modality: In-person

+ Pay Rate: $42/hr

+ Contract Length: 36 weeks

+ Grade Level: Elementary School

+ Interview: Virtual

Minimum Requirements:

+ Valid state counselor certification

+ Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field (per state/facility guidelines)

+ Complies with all professional standards of practice

+ Current CPR (if applicable)

+ TB screening and health clearance

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age

Day-to-Day Duties:

+ Provide individual and group counseling to address academic, behavioral, and emotional needs

+ Assist students in developing coping strategies and problem-solving skills

+ Implement social-emotional learning programs

+ Respond to crises and coordinate with mental health professionals

+ Communicate with families and provide resources

+ Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality
