GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CLASS
This position assists in various functions in support of the RP Funding Center’s operations and customer experience. An employee in this classification works directly under the supervision of the Event Staff Supervisor and/or the Manager of Guest Services, Parking, and Security. Several positions are open – Usher, Ticket Taker, Security, Parking Lot Patrol, and Parking Cashier. These positions are responsible for work involving monitoring access to and exiting the facility, securing restricted areas, directing guests to proper entrances and seating areas, monitoring non-ticketed events, monitoring guests’ safety, maintaining building safety standards, maintaining crowd control, guarding valuables and money, giving directions, adhering to building policies and specific event requirements. Work is carried out through verbal and written instructions. An applicant can work in one or more of these roles.
This is a part time temporary position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ticket Taker
+ Verifies guest tickets for accuracy (event, date, time) and admits only valid entries.
+ Greets guests courteously, provides general and event-specific information, and maintains a professional demeanor.
+ Directs traffic flow to designated areas.
+ Observes and reports suspicious behavior or activities in the facility's interior and exterior.
+ Maintains crowd control and is alert to potential disturbances for prevention measures.
+ Reminds guests of venue policies (e.g., no re-entry, prohibited items).
+ Handles guest complaints and diffuses volatile situations calmly and per RP Funding Center policies, escalating to supervisors as needed.
+ Checks facility before, during, and after events for damages and lost articles and reports to appropriate personnel.
+ Attends meetings, pre-event meetings, and training classes on building policies and procedures as required.
+ Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
+ Follows the established dress and behavior codes.
+ Follows verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
+ Performs other duties and job classifications for RP Funding Center as special and emergency or event requirements dictate.
+ May be required to participate and/or facilitate training to support departmental or City initiatives and requirements.
+ May be required to work overtime or alternate hours as necessary for the efficient operation of the department.

Usher
+ Provides general and event-specific directions and assistance to guests, including seating, lost and found, restrooms, and accessibility needs.
+ Keeps railings, walls, aisles, stairs, and other areas free of congestion as determined by the assigned area to support safe movement.
+ Greets and welcomes guests courteously and professionally.
+ Monitors guests for adherence to venue policies and reminds them of rules related to re-entry, prohibited items, and event-specific guidelines.
+ Monitors assigned areas for accidents, unsafe conditions, and suspicious activity and reports issues to the supervisor immediately to ensure maximum guest enjoyment and safety.
+ Provides general and event-specific information effectively to the public

+ Inspects assigned areas—including entrances, exits, and restricted zones—for safety hazards, damages, or lost articles before, during, and after events.
+ Directs guest flow and keeps pathways clear, ensuring venue safety standards and event-specific requirements are adhered to.
+ Controls access to the facility, including restricted or staff-only areas.
+ Provides general and event-specific information effectively to the public
+ Monitors crowds for disturbances or suspicious activity, maintains control, and diffuses volatile situations according to RP Funding Center policies.
+ Handles problems and guest complaints in a calm, professional, courteous, and timely manner.
+ Monitors non-ticketed events and performs duties as event requirements dictate.
+ Attends meetings, pre-event meetings, and training classes on building policies and procedures as required.
+ Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
+ Follows the established dress and behavior codes.
+ Follows verbal and written instructions from supervisors.

+ Provides general and event-specific information effectively to the public
+ Manages traffic and parking operations, including controlling entry/exit flow, directing vehicles, collecting payments, and inspecting articles as required.
+ Maintains crowd control, monitors for suspicious activity or disturbances, handles guest complaints, and diffuses volatile situations per RP Funding Center policies.
+ Inspects facility areas—including entrances, exits, and restricted zones—before, during, and after events for safety issues, damages, and lost articles.
+ Monitors non-ticketed events and performs duties as event requirements dictate.
+ Attends meetings, pre-event meetings, and training classes on building policies and procedures as required.

+ Collects and manages parking fees or serves as a cashier at designated workstations during events.
+ Assists with traffic and parking control by directing vehicles to designated areas.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE)
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
+ Knowledge and understanding of building evacuation procedures and emergency codes
+ Ability to operate basic technology
+ Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
+ Knowledge of basic mathematical skills.
+ Ability to adhere to building policies and event requirements.
+ Ability to interact positively and professionally with fellow employees and the general public.
+ Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
+ Ability to operate a standard golf cart.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Requires sedentary work that involves walking or standing most of the time, exerting up to 25 pounds of force regularly, climbing stairs, and routine keyboard operations.
+ The job has no significant exposure to environmental hazards.
+ The job requires normal visual acuity, field of vision, hearing, speaking, color perception, depth perception, and texture perception.
