Special Education Teacher - Middle School Resource - Antioch, IL

Pay Rate: $50/hour

Hours: 32.5 per week

Assignment Dates: January 9, 2026 – April 9, 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality educational services to middle school students in a structured, self-contained classroom setting. This position focuses on supporting students on the autism spectrum and requires collaboration with paraprofessionals and general education staff to ensure individualized learning plans are implemented effectively.

Key Responsibilities

+ Deliver specialized instruction and support for students in grades 6–8.

+ Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

+ Collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals and other team members to create a structured learning environment.

+ Provide consultation and support to general education staff as needed.

+ Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Classroom Details

+ Approximately 4 students in a self-contained classroom.

+ 2 paraprofessionals assigned to assist.

+ Students require structured learning and consistent routines.

Schedule

+ Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:15 AM – 3:35 PM

+ Wednesday: 8:15 AM – 4:00 PM

+ Includes a 40-minute lunch and 30 minutes of planning time daily.

+ 30-minute unpaid break.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (preferred).

+ Valid state teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement (LBS1 preferred).

+ Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).

+ Compliance with all professional standards and health requirements (CPR, TB test, health certificate as applicable).

+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
