Job Title: Dental Assistant

Contract Length: 10 Weeks

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM

Pay Rate: $30/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team at a psychiatric facility in Lakewood, WA. This short-term contract role involves supporting dental care for patients in a behavioral health setting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a unique clinical environment.

Responsibilities

+ Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures.

+ Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.

+ Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with facility protocols.

+ Provide patient support and education as needed.

+ Uphold infection control and safety standards.

Requirements

+ Active Washington State Dental Assistant registration.

+ Previous experience in dental assisting (psychiatric or correctional experience preferred but not required).

+ Strong communication and organizational skills.

+ Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain professionalism in a behavioral health setting.

The Dental Assistant provides support to the dentist duringpatient care and completes the preparation of the room and dentaltools/equipment. The Dental Assistant complete intake paperwork, update patientrecords, sterilize and organize dental tools, and assist during any dentalprocedures.

Minimum Requirements:

+ High School diploma or its equivalent

+ Current License/Certificate within state of practice

+ One year experience as Dental Assistant preferred

+ Current CPR if applicable

+ TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

+ Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
