Job Description
Working as a Master Program Planner at BAE Space and Mission Systems (SMS) is an exciting opportunity to become part of a high-tech team of people developing innovative products for the Aerospace and Defense industry. You will be responsible for developing a multi-year plan that the team must follow to produce the customer deliverable. Tasks are performed under the general direction of program managers and functional managers, plus mentoring from senior Master Planner staff.
The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.
What You ll Do:
+ Support programs with a general knowledge of industry practices, techniques and standards.
+ Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
+ Have a general level of responsibility and execution, working toward independently supporting programs of medium complexity and size. Increased experience, skills, and knowledge are evolving to permit independent support to higher tiered programs while learning key management analytical information.
+ Work is performed primarily internal to the company with limited inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.
+ Review the program technical requirements and work with the Master Program Planner staff to build a schedule plan that ensures requirements are met.
+ Support the Program Master Planner staff on assigned programs with:
+ Schedule baseline development that encompasses the requirements and meets program and work center needs.
+ Gain insight into the schedule baseline and formal change control process as necessary.
+ Attend schedule update meetings as required, obtain schedule status and enter into program schedules under the supervision of the Master Planning Staff.
+ Under the direct oversight of the Master Planning Staff, develop schedule reports and analysis that provides status to support customer deliverables as necessary.
+ Recovery schedule development and implementation as deemed necessary.
+ What-if schedule inputs and analysis as required.
+ Support new business proposals with development of proposal schedules with input from Master Planner staff.
+ Work with Program Manager, Control Account Manager (CAM), Responsible Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure scheduled work for Programs is being communicated effectively.
+ Support the Master Planning Staff with to understand program material and subcontractor requirements that are integrated into the Program schedule.
+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
+ Perform other duties as necessary.
**On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site three or more days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
+ Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Bachelor s degree in a related field.
+ Each higher-level degree, i.e. Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
+ Knowledge and limited experience in utilizing business principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
+ Solid communication and presentation skills.
+ Ability to work in a team setting, coordinating group initiatives in order to bring a project to completion.
+ Positive attitude and be willing to take initiative.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Experience using MS Project and Excel, along with other MS Office Products.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $55295 - $94001
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
