Job Description
The BAE Systems, Space & Mission Systems, Military Space Strategic Business Unit is looking for a Business Development Manager to support growth of our Space Superiority business in the mission area of Space Control. This position requires expertise and knowledge of the military space market, to include Space Force, other space agencies, and key stakeholders. This position will support business development activities responsible for the development of space-based mission solutions for government and prime contractor customers.
The Military Space Strategic Business Unit delivers innovative space systems that drive mission success and provide resilient and persistent mission-level solutions to deter threats and counter emerging capabilities for the Department of War.
What You ll Do:
+ Support business development by identification, qualification, and creation of new business opportunities.
+ Develop contact plans and capture strategies, monitor capture activities including definition of tasks, budgets, and schedules.
+ Maintain productive relationships and coordinate contacts with key government and industry customers.
+ Manage Space Control mission area needs and prioritize opportunities to align with it.
+ Define, secure, organize, and direct staff, resources, standards, processes, and tools essential for successful completion of capture activities (from interest thru early life cycle).
+ Provide leadership, knowledge, business opportunities, strategies, competitive intelligence, and market and legislative forecasts commensurate with company financial and strategic plans relative to the purpose noted above.
+ Provide leadership, knowledge, mentoring, and enable continuous staff development in supporting business development and capture activities.
+ Lead the preparation of responses to customer opportunities, including white papers, proposals, budgetary estimates, and responses to customer requests for information.
+ Manage capture leads and engineering personnel to carry out capture plans and strategies, and to produce solutions that meet customers mission needs.
+ Regularly interface with the Space Force acquisition and operations organizations.
+ Coordinate needs with support organizations including contracts, engineering, finance, manufacturing, operations, security, and others as needed.
+ Development of contact plans, capture strategies and supporting Industry Days, Symposiums, Professional Events, Conferences, and Trade Shows
+ Ensure all business is conducted with the highest ethical standards.
+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
+ Perform other duties as necessary.
**On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
+ Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ BS/BA in related field plus 12 years or more related experience.
+ Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
+ A current, active Top Secret security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
+ Experience working with Department of War (DoW) and Intelligence Community (IC) space agencies and operations communities.
+ Experience with Space Warfighting Operations, Planning, Strategy, Requirements, or Acquisition Organizations.
+ Understanding of DoW Requirements, Acquisition, and Budget development processes.
+ Superb communication and presentation skills with documented presentation experience to senior decision-making and technical audiences.
+ Excellent communication, presentation development, and delivery skills; competent with MS Office computer tools including Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Office.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Expertise and knowledge of the military space warfighting market, to include Space Force (Space Staff, Space Systems Command, Space Development Agency, Air Force Research Lab), Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO), and staff of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF/SQ).
+ Understanding of the U.S. Space market, its customers and the ability to think strategically and champion future opportunities for Military Space.
+ Operational Command or Senior Materiel Leader or equivalent experience.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $169630 - $288370

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
