Job Description

EAG Laboratories is seeking a passionate and skilled **Scientist** to join our **SIMS** (Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry **)** group. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced analytical techniques and contribute to the development of innovative materials.

Position Overview:

As a Scientist in our SIMS group, you will perform depth profile analysis of dielectric thin films using the Ion-ToF tool. You will analyze and test both new and existing materials such as SiN, SiO2, IGZO, and low-k to identify their properties and characteristics, aiding in product development and improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Conduct comprehensive analytical work independently, including complex tasks.

+ Apply standard and non-standard techniques to determine the composition, properties, and structure of materials.

+ Prepare detailed reports on analytical results for customers, including interpretation of findings.

+ Provide technical reviews for reports prepared by other analysts.

+ Evaluate customer requests, determine testing requirements, and prepare project quotations.

+ Ensure adherence to schedule, budget, and performance requirements.

+ Potentially direct phases of revenue-producing projects.

Work Schedule: **Sundays to Thursdays, 8am-5pm**

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

+ PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Engineering with experience in materials characterization and surface analysis techniques.

+ OR: MS in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.

+ OR: BS in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Engineering with 5+ years of industry experience.

Skills and Abilities:

+ Must have experience with the Ion-ToF tool.

+ Familiarity with quality system documents and compliance with all system requirements.

+ Strong analytical and judgment skills.

+ High level of computer literacy, accuracy, and attention to detail.

+ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

+ Exceptional written communication skills.

This position works with companies that deal with defense-related activities and is subject to **ITAR** (International Traffic in Arms Regulations). **All accepted applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR:**

Physical Requirements:

+ The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office or laboratory to access file cabinets, machinery, equipment etc.

+ Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).

+ Ability to handle small and fragile devices with tweezers and /or fingers.

+ Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses, Contacts, etc.)

+ Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead.

+ Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.

+ Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.

+ Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
