This is a unique opportunity to shape the product governance framework for a high-visibility banking portfolio, ensure customer protections are maintained, and uphold Amex’s reputation for trust, service, and operational excellence.

    Key responsibilities include:

+ Identify emerging risks and trends; validate signals and prioritize areas requiring deeper investigation.

+ Ensure monitoring results are documented, tracked, and escalated appropriately.

+ Oversee investigations into customer, operational, and technical anomalies; raise INCs to Technology and Operations when needed.

+ Drive end-to-end issue management including scoping, documentation, impact assessments, and partner alignment.

+ Open Operational Risk Events (OREs) for significant or systemic problems, ensuring adherence to governance requirements.

+ Maintain strong relationships with Product Management, Technologies (Digital Banking), Operations/Servicing, Compliance, Control Management, and other stakeholders.

+ Ensure timely communication and alignment across partners during escalations, mitigation planning, and issue resolution.

+ Generate a monthly reporting package that summarizes all portfolio monitoring in an engaging and insightful manner

+ Contribute to governance forums by presenting monitoring findings, escalations, and risk themes.

+ Lead, mentor, and develop a team responsible for monitoring, investigations, and governance support.

+ Drive a culture of accountability, curiosity, structured problem-solving, and operational rigor.

    Qualifications:

Ideal candidate will bring strong operational and investigative skills, product governance experience (or the ability to learn quickly), and the ability to manage complex cross-functional processes, issues and escalations.

+ 3-5 years of relevant experience in product management, operations, control monitoring or issue management

+ Strong project management skills and ability to lead multiple projects and priorities

+ Demonstrated ability to lead investigations, manage issues, and drive escalations with confidence.

+ Strong technical acumen, able to converse well with product development and engineering partners.

+ Data analytical mindset and the ability to analyze data, find anomalies and patterns in the data

+ Familiarity with compliance requirements, issue management processes, or risk frameworks — or willingness to rapidly learn.

+ Strong collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to partner across multiple functions and levels.

+ People Leader: Experience leading a team of analysts--prioritizing workloads, streamlining processes.
