Job Title: Engineering Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate the activities of our engineering department. This role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively manage personnel, ensure adherence to safety and quality standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or manufacturing engineering within the automotive or aerospace industries.
Responsibilities
+ Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned personnel by providing priorities, setting deadlines, and giving direction based on department and business needs.
+ Ensure direct reports adhere to all EHS standards and policies established by the business.
+ Ensure direct reports follow and work to all QMS procedures; aid in the creation or revision of procedures for the Engineering Department; train reports as procedures are created or revised.
+ Hold direct reports accountable for their actions, performance, and adherence to company policy; administer discipline when necessary.
+ Promote positive morale within the department by resolving issues promptly, providing timely feedback, and treating department members with respect and fairness.
+ Conduct formal performance appraisals and recommend pay increases, transfers, and promotions in accordance with company policy and procedures.
+ Maintain a professional and personable relationship with all employees, being responsive to their needs as well as the needs of the company.
+ Set working hours for direct reports and adjust work schedules to complete projects on time.
+ Promote an environment of Continuous Improvement and encourage employee efforts to improve effectiveness within the department.
+ Assist the Director of Engineering and Technology and Human Resources in evaluating, interviewing, and hiring new department staff.
+ Assist with NRE and lead time estimates for the purpose of providing timely and accurate responses to RFQs from customers.
+ Perform other duties or functions as requested by the Director of Engineering and Technology.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
+ 10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer within the automotive or aerospace industry
+ 3+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
+ Experience in heavy industrial regulated market industry (automotive, aerospace)
+ Experience in a CNC fabrication type of manufacturing facility
+ Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with clients
+ US Citizenship
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in engineering management
+ Knowledge of aerospace and automotive manufacturing
+ Familiarity with CNC and manufacturing engineering
+ Ability to stay abreast of new technology (software and hardware) to ensure cutting-edge manufacturing advancements
Work Environment
The position is based at our Ohio facility, requiring on-site presence 5 days a week from 7:00am to 5:00pm. The role involves managing the engineering department and currently has 4 direct reports, with plans to hire 4-5 more people. The candidate will be involved in the hiring process to expand the team.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Cincinnati, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
