    Job Description: Individual Tax Preparer

     

    Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Flexible based on firm needs)

     

    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

     

    Compensation: $25–$28 per hour, depending on experience

     

    Start Date: ASAP

     

    About the Role

     

    We are seeking an experienced Individual Tax Preparer who can independently manage and complete personal tax files from start to finish. The ideal candidate has HIGH attention to detail, is highly organized, and can spot discrepancies or irregularities without close supervision. While this role does not require interviewing clients or providing tax recommendations, you may reach out to clients if documentation is missing or clarification is needed.

    Key Responsibilities:

    -Prepare Individual Tax Returns (Form 1040) accurately and efficiently.

     

    -Manage tax files from A to Z, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and high-quality output.

     

    -Review tax documents thoroughly to identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information.

     

    -Contact clients only when necessary to obtain support documents or clarify details.

     

    -Utilize Lacerte Tax Software to prepare and process returns.

     

    -Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to firm procedures.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    -Experience preparing Individual Tax Returns required.

     

    -Preferred CTEC certification

     

    -Proficiency with Lacerte software.

     

    -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

     

    -Exceptionally HIGH attention to detail with the ability to catch irregularities quickly.

     

    -Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
