    Ultimately, the expectations we may have from this project are to **support the development of tailored therapeutic strategie** s that best suit immunocompromised individuals, based on a clear understanding of the immune pathways dysregulated. This work may also **unravel new knowledge on how B cells, T cells and myeloid cells control gut homeostasis.**

    Responsibilities

    The main objective of my PhD project will be to identify dysregulated immune networks triggering and sustaining inflammation in CVID patients with GI tract disorders. My work will focus on the study of human gastrointestinal biopsies. I will use a **combination of single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), high dimensional flow cytometry, and whole slide, high-resolution multiplex imagery approaches** , to identify the functional alterations of immune cells within the CVID inflamed gut and/or stomach mucosa.

     

    The project will be structured around three specific aims (described in the following section “Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project”) : **1) Investigating the** **cellular and molecular organizations of gut inflammatory lesions in CVID** ; **2) Addressing the** **role of B cells and autoantibodies** in the pathogenesis of CVID gut inflammatory lesions ; **3)** **Dissecting altered molecular trajectory of myeloid cells** in CVID.

     

    This PhD project will be co-supervised by Prof. Saurabh Mehandru (MD-PhD, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New-York, USA) and Prof. Jérôme Martin (PhD, Nantes University, France). It will be part of an international, pre-existing **collaboration between Nantes University and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai** , contributing to a translational research effort ultimately aimed at benefiting patients.

    Compensation Statement

    Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
